Flourless Chocolate Cake
I found this recipe online and it is amazing. It takes 5 minutes to put together and 14 to bake. It doesn’t require a mixer. All you need is a spoon. I have to keep making it because it is so good that we crave it. I serve it with whipped cream or just chocolate syrup. Or just eat it by itself. Since I add almonds and powdered sugar to the top sometimes, it doesn’t need anything else.
This rich and decadent chocolate keto cake is shockingly delicious and secretly low-carb.
Recipe from Chocolate Covered Katie (chocolatecoveredkatie.com)
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups fine almond flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp dutch cocoa or additional regular
- 2 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup water or milk of choice
- 3 eggs
- 1/3 cup granulated erythritol or regular sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
Tips
*For a double layer cake, simply double the recipe and bake in two 8-inch pans.
Served with whipped cream and garnished with berries is the way to go. I don’t think it needs frosting.
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Step 2
Grease an 8-inch pan, and line with parchment. I’ve made it without it when I have run out and, if you grease the pan generously, it shouldn’t stick.
Step 3
Stir all ingredients together very well, then spread into the pan. If needed, use a second sheet of parchment to smooth down.
Step 4
Bake 14 minutes on the center rack (some ovens require more baking time, so continue cooking until firm, if needed).
Step 5
Let cool completely. We don’t frost it, but you are welcome to.
Total Time 5 minutes to prep and 14 minutes to bake.
