To insert a new table: click on the space you want the table to be, and then click on the “insert/edit table” icon. Enter the information in the window and click insert. You can also access this through right clicking on the space you want the table to be inserted in.
To edit a table: click once on the top-left corner of the table to select it, then click on the “insert/edit table” icon. Change the information needed. All these functions can also be accessed by right clicking on the table. You can also click inside any cell then click on the insert table icon to edit the table properties.
To edit a cell: click on the cell you want to edit, then click on the “edit cell” icon. Or, right click on the cell.
To combine or merge two or more cells together: select them by clicking and dragging to the left or right, depending on where you inserted your curser. Once selected, click on the merge button.
To unmerge a column or row: select the column or row and click on the unmerge button.
To add a new row above: click on the row you want the row above in, and click on the add row above button.
To add a row below: click on the row that you want a row below in and click on the add row below button.
To add a column to the left of the cell or column you are in: select it and click on the “add column to the left” button.
To add a column to the right of the cell or column you are in: select it and click on the “add column to the right” button.
To delete a row: select it or a cell in the row and click on the “delete row” button.
To delete a column: select it, then click on the “delete column” button.
To select more than one row: click on a row then drag down. You can also select them by holding down the “shift” key while you click on each row. If you want to select individual rows that are not all together (skipping rows), I don’t remember in a PC if it is called an alt key? Or control, like the mac?
You cannot add individual cells. You add rows or columns since an individual cell would through the table out of whack. Think of it as a whole bunch of squares together. You combine them to create columns and rows.
